Description
Carbon 60is the near spherical football shape molecule consisting of 60 carbon atoms, also known as the Buckyball, it is the most stable of the fullerenes.
This molecular model by Cochranes of Oxford shows students the highly symmetrical structure of Carbon 60. It is composed of 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons with alternating double and single bonds, these are illustrated by different colour tubes in the model.
The kit is low cost, easy to assemble and robust, it contains sufficient atoms to see the relationship between structure and physical properties, allowing students to learn as they follow the building instructions and model descriptions.
Suitable for G.C.S.E and Advanced levels of education.
